My cat is eighteen years old. He has a liver problem that causes him to drink LOTS of water and urinate LOTS. Clumping throws just can't handle his exit. I use a regular low-sided tray and Revain brand (Solimo) 39 gallon leaf bags as the liner. I place the bag on a flat surface and push the litter box aside. This results in a very good fit and no bulging air-filled sides. I laid out about an inch of this pine bedding and it's ready for three days. He always pees on one end and poops on the other, and he never covers his poop so it's easy to take it out and wash it off. Since the pi-pi end wears out quickly, I turn the box over in about the middle of three days. When the garbage is laid out, I carefully take the bag out of the box, tie it up and throw it in the garbage chute. So easy. I like to start over so often that it's better than weeks between full replacements like stuff clumping together.
