History: My right knee got to a point where even climbing two or three steps I had a shooting pain just under (not under, but under the leg) the kneecap. Climbing an entire flight of stairs meant putting the bad foot on the top step and jumping with the good foot. I got worried when the "good" leg started having problems (most likely because the bad leg was being preferred). I found using my hand and light pressure on either side of the pain helped. I looked around and this belt was at the top of the list of possible candidates. I told myself that if that didn't work, I would keep trying with others. I started wearing a bandage. It took AT LEAST two weeks before I felt a difference. It was a small difference. I was beginning to worry that the corset wouldn't help. Then I realized I was still "hopping" up the stairs. I figured if this worked, I'd have to stop favoring the knee. I purposely started using the pad from my ailing knee and taking it to the next level (VERY slowly). I found it didn't hurt as much as it used to. I kept working on it. Let's be clear - it still hurts - just not as much. Everything got better. After a month or two I decided to try a day without a bracket (it needed washing). My knee has definitely improved a lot. I left it for the last month. My knee is better. Much better. Was there pain? Yes. Was time involved? Yes. This is not a panacea. That involved a lot of work. Did the stretching help? YUP! Did I have to work MANY weeks? YES SIR. This is not a silver bullet. This is an assistant. Help. All I can say is if your knee hurts. Try it.
