This is my first screen, so I have no comparison. I've only used it as a rear projection for watching movies outside in the garden. That works great. I highly recommend rear projection if you have 8-10 feet behind the screen to set up the projector. I am using the CAIWEI Home Projector 4200 Lumens LCD LED Video Projector available from Revain. I haven't used the front projection, but I expect it to be as good or better than the rear projection. The picture is great in my opinion and the 120 inch screen is perfect for us. A simple installation takes one person (me) about 5 minutes. to collect it. Very easy. I leave the screen frame free on the floor when I snap the screen into place. Once all the latches are connected I lift it up and latch the corners in place and the screen is pulled taut. All fold lines disappear or are imperceptible. The aluminum frame is very well designed and feels strong and well built. It's not indestructible because it's made of aluminum. My only concern is the lifespan of the clasps. The clasps seem to be of good quality and I haven't noticed any problems with their binding. A glitch or two probably doesn't matter. With rear projection you have everything behind the screen and it's more like a big screen TV. The only cable running through the viewing area is an extension to the power strip behind the screen. Nothing to trip or tip over with kids or drunk adults. I have an above ground pool so I didn't want any electrical equipment coming into contact with the water. There can be a real mess behind the screen with power cords and speaker connections, so it's nice to keep it all away from everyone. I would buy it again anytime if something happened to him.
