OK, I love Nicrew flashlights but this option is a waste of time for most people as it can be held unaided on a frosted tank. I had this lantern and it just didn't look right, but since my stand is on the level above I took it and put it on the level above as a light for my pathos. This is good for removing nitrite and ammonia, which in turn form NITRATE. Overall, the miniature's sleek looks don't properly reflect its capabilities. If I were you I would buy a smaller NICRW Light (12-18 inch) if you have a smaller tank like 5 gallon or less but get more Nicrew light for big tank like mine for my 10 and 20 Gallon tanks that look phenomenal with their lights growing plants like crazy.
