Review on πŸ’‘ STANLEY FATMAX SL10LEDS Rechargeable 2200 Lumen Spotlight Flashlight: Ultra Bright LED, USB Power Charger by Adam Abner

Revainrating 5 out of 5

big and bright (there are some really geeky specs in the review I'd like to find)

The beam has quite a bit of "overall" light in a wide cone, then a brighter area around it VERY bright center beam. That seems like an overstatement, but it helps provide context for what you're pointing at. You might find this headlight too big or too heavy, but I wanted it to be aimed at back roads and campgrounds when looking for a parking spot. a place to sleep in the national forest after dark and it does the job really well! Other reviewers questioned the runtime. I let it run for a maximum of 65 minutes and it never faded. Unlike most others, it has a power regulator so the light stays on all the time until it's almost gone. It also has a smart switch that toggles from off to bright and dim to off when you hold the trigger. but if you leave it on for a few seconds, pressing the shutter button will turn it off instead of going off before turning it off like others do. It has NO flash mode or SOS mode. Here's the interesting part: I charged it up after 1 hour of use and found it drawing exactly 600mA (from several different power sources including the ones supplied and a 2.1A cell phone charger). for a very long time. If you need fast charging, this isn't for you. The charge level indicator changed from red to green (flashing) at around 3Ah, and at 3.5Ah the charging current started to drop (down to 250mA at 3.7Ah). Note that the battery is not 5V, so the USB charging amp-hours will be less than the step-down lithium battery amp-hours. If this is indeed a 10 watt light, as Stanley says, 1 hour of operation should require 10 watt hours of charging (which would be 2 amp hours at 5v). The roughly 4 amp hours I put into it is typical for lithium batteries, which require twice the charging current when discharging. I believe you. The radiator at the top is SLIGHTLY warm, but not so hot that it hurts or burns you. PS: I tried the smaller one (XM-L2 CREE) before settling on this one. If that seems too big to you, look at a smaller one. He had a zoom lens, which I really liked, but it spread me, and this one goes about twice as far because the beam is denser and the reflector is bigger.
