Gentle, non-irritating. The consistency is fluid and light. It spreads easily on my skin and absorbs in less than 5 minutes. I started using this product 2x/week and was able to quickly switch to nightly/5x/week. I had a short cleansing period. You will know that this will clean you and not break you because you will get pimples where they normally appear (if you usually get them on the chin and cheeks they appear there and not the forehead or nose) and they will go away faster than normal skin rashes. Mine usually lasted a week and they were gone in a day or two. Definitely just a cleanse and it only lasted a week or two when I started. I really think it helps keep my skin clean. Can't comment on fine lines or hyperpigmentation yet as I haven't been using it long enough to see these results. I can't say I see a huge difference, but I'm willing to give him more time. Overall I love the product and would recommend it to someone in their 20s looking to switch to a retinol cycle. If you're over 30 you can still start with a gentle introduction, but I might consider a more effective product.
