This is my overall impression of the device after the first day of use. The box was crumpled when it arrived but the item was intact. It comes in a pretty decent package, but in the end they lowered the price and didn't wrap the monitor in any type of plastic. Also, the HDMI input is somewhat damaged. The picture is good but the sound isn't, both for the speakers and the audio jack, so I chose this monitor over others as some devices don't support audio output, e.g. e.g. PS3. light, too light to be afraid of accidentally destroying it. I hooked it up to my laptop as a secondary display and it worked. It can be powered via micro-USB, which I liked because it uses a universal cable that's widely available (although they could upgrade to USB-C). The colors are quite normal, not the best you can find. The quality is as decent as the $150 desktop monitors companies buy in bulk, which is neither too good nor too bad. That's enough for me. However, the main advantage of this device is its viewing angle, which is 18 degrees. I only noticed that after the purchase. Nowadays we take 160-178 viewing angles for granted and forget that narrow viewing angles exist. The monitor produces decent output when in landscape mode and in front of you, but I wanted to use this monitor to read books, documents, and comics in portrait mode. However, due to the narrow viewing angle, it cannot be viewed in portrait mode. In my case the ground would just be black and painful to the eyes. Also, the monitor arrived with a dead pixel in the top left corner, which really hurts. Plus, you're paying for portability here, so there's a lot to sacrifice and unfortunately, portable monitors aren't a mainstream accessory just yet and there aren't many big brands making them so your options are limited. However, paying $200 for a 1080p monitor with a micro USB port and limited viewing angles is too much. Although I'm giving it an AUX port, which is really helpful if you want to play PS3 with any headphones, this seems to rule out other brands (even other GAEMS models) IF it works. TL; The DR monitor is low quality with normal performance and narrow viewing angles. Came in a crumpled box, the monitor was unpacked and the sound in both the speakers and headphone jack is ruined. Look for something different.
