Review on Logitech Wireless Desktop MK710: Reliable 2.4 GHz Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Combo with Unify Receiver by Wiktor Lisowicz ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

There are pros and cons, think before buying.

I was leaning toward a score between between 2 and 3, but I couldn't be sure. The material that the keys are constructed of as well as the frame that they are held on are the two aspects of the keyboard that are the least desirable. After a half year or a year, the plastic starts to visibly wear off at the points of their contacts, and as a result, when the key is pressed, it can (and does often) rest against the chute in which it moves and not be pressed. This happens because the plastic begins to degrade at the points of their contacts. Because of this, it eventually becomes hard to type comfortably on the keyboard as it continues to become increasingly worse over time. It seems as though the keyboard was designed with housewives in mind, as they may type up to one thousand characters per day on it with very little noticeable wear. It is not suitable for programmers and gamers, and it will not become suitable in the foreseeable future. The functionality of multimedia keys is broken as a result of SetPoint software; player playback control does not operate in Windows 8 and later versions. So, you will need to either give up these functions or refrain from installing the software, in which case you will also give up the functions for horizontal scrolling and anything else that it enables you to perform. At that kind of money and coming from a firm with the reputation that this one does, I believe you should be able to anticipate a significantly better product.

Pros
  • Good ergonomics, including a wrist rest, on the keyboard Availability of a feature that allows the top of the keyboard to be raised by two levels Multimedia controls that are both incredibly comfy and thoughtfully designed Separate button to start the calculator Very long-lasting batteries Great keyboard display Wheel that is quite comfortable to use and has an inertial scroll feature.
Cons
  • Because of the poor quality of the plastic, the keys will ultimately stop moving when they are pressed (tested on 5 sets). More information can be found in the comments. The keyboard angle feet have rubber portions on them, but they are not properly glued. Software that is both erroneous and badly maintained.
