I like it, but it will definitely meet your expectations. This helps a lot with propagation control, but doesn't eliminate it completely (I don't think it will). Strangely, my cat actively avoids the mat; He jumps straight out of the litter box onto clean ground, but walks on it when entering his crate. Luckily, while the mat is airborne, it will catch flying debris, or at least absorb the impact of the fall to reduce scatter range. However, this mat has two major advantages: first, the mat catches stray litter when I scoop out the box and toss the litter into my Litter Genie; Second, if the dirt sticks to your feet (I go barefoot in my house), you can hobble to the carpet and wipe your feet to get rid of the dirt without picking up new pieces.
