I bought this belt for my wife. She lost weight, her pants became a little looser, and she had to constantly pull them up. She's an elementary school teacher and didn't have to worry about looking disheveled and adjusting her pants all day. She saw these types of belts and wanted to try them since they are flat and stretchy. So I bought it for her. The straps are well made and about 1 1/4 inches wide including a plastic buckle and even an adjustable length buckle. It slides easily through the loops on the pants and fits her perfectly. She tried another brand and they were 1 1/2 inches wide including buckles and too big for her belt loops.
