Cool product, happy with the purchase, maybe Ill buy it again.

The 50/1.4 is a really high-quality lens, and I do not regret the purchase of it in the slightest. Wonderful for making crop portraits! For more affordable options, consider purchasing a focal length of 50 millimeters with an aperture of 1.8. You won't sacrifice much, if anything, other than the construction and a small amount of "brightness" and "saturation"; however, this is something that can almost never be differentiated solely through comparison. It is also entirely feasible to do so even without aperture 1.4. The benefits of it include: 0. The USM motor has a lower typical decibel level. 1. Can become focused fairly quickly. 2. beautifully draws bokeh. 3. an aperture with eight blades creates beautiful circles and beautiful rays when used with a long exposure time on night lights. 4. and of course the aperture ratio is 1.4, although at 1.4 the depth of field is so narrow that it is difficult to aim anywhere, but you can shoot portraits, especially if the model is not very good)) 5. The lens is made to be heavy, and it appears to be in great shape on my 550D; however, on the 5D, it looks already unnaturally small. Some cons: The trunk is going its separate way! A significant number of individuals have voiced their dissatisfaction with the fact that the focusing ring can be damaged with only a minimal amount of force applied to it. You absolutely must exercise caution. Another disadvantage is that only a small number of people will be able to tell the difference between photographs captured with this lens and those captured with a 50/1.8 lens that is three times less expensive. For a very long time, we compared two of these lenses head-to-head in a full-time battle on two different cameras (the 550D and the 400D). Of course, the 50/1.4 came out on top because it produces colors that are more vibrant and richer, and the ability to set it to 1.4 makes one's heart feel all toasty and fuzzy inside. Naturally, 50 / 1.4 has a diameter of 58 mm, but 50 / 1.8 only has a diameter of 52 mm. In a circle with a diameter of 58 millimeters, and more light is let in! A rock-solid guideline to follow when selecting lenses is this: the larger the diameter of the outer lens of the lens, the better it is, how much more its area, provided that all other factors are held constant. And it would be wonderful in most cases if there was a stabilizer present here. It's unfortunate that these are only pipe fantasies at best.
