I really don't understand the previous reviews where they complain about it not fitting their unit. You have a tape measure/ruler. I bought it for a laptop optics that I pulled out of an old laptop because my new one doesn't have it. I made a small wooden tray for this to give the tray clearance to open. Yes, it's a bit more than necessary, but a bit of bubble wrap for the filling keeps the disc from shifting, and the cable pocket can hold more than I need so I don't have to mess with cables. . I even use the case as a platform to mount the drive when I plug it in.
