Review on Sony IER M7 In Ear Monitor Headphones by William Dean

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Absolutely amazing, comparable to EX800ST and IER M9

Before I get started I should try to allay people's concerns about the price of the product and its legality: don't worry, because it is! The item is legal and genuine Sony IER M7. The reason they're so cheap is because they're not covered by Sony's warranty, they're covered by a seller. Okay, so in that sense, this is an incredible pair of IEMs. Everything about them is amazing! The packaging is absolutely gorgeous and left me in awe for a while (reminds me of a phone's packaging), the contents of the box are insane and the sound quality of these headphones is just amazing. In the box you will find several sizes of two types. Eartips: Sony's comfortable eartip and hybrid rubber eartip. You also get a 3.5mm cable and a 4.4mm cable, and a very neat magnetic storage box for your IEMs. Well, as for the IEMs themselves, they're really good. As a diehard Sony fan who loves their EX800ST and M9, I think the M7 is better than the EX800 and almost as good if not better than the M9. While the M7 isn't as punchy as the EX800, it definitely retains music clarity better and has a clearer high-end. Compared to the M9, the M7 sounds very close to the M9, but sounds much warmer and not as neutral. The M9 is extremely neutral, but renders music flat and boring (that's the whole point of studio quality headphones). I'm a huge fan of the M7 simply for the warmth it brings to smooth vocals. So conclusion! These sound great. And for the price of $500? This is an amazing bargain and I think they will easily outperform the M9 in terms of price and performance.
