Review on Super Orange Leather Floto Luggage by Joy Anderson

I ordered this strap for my Floto briefcase and it has definitely gotten more comfortable as it gets wider. For those looking at the photo, it's not necessarily padded in the middle, it's just wider to spread the weight of your luggage more evenly over your shoulder. It's definitely better than the flimsy leather strap with the horribly cheap brass fittings that Floto ships with its briefcases. I know they are cheap as I have some good hand made leashes with good quality brass clasps and the clasps on Floto products don't look or feel like this. . The seams are tight and relatively clean. The leather color goes well with the brown Floto briefcase I already have. Mine broke on one side where the clasp goes into the ring that the leather goes through. It's hard to explain without visual aids, but the brass locking mechanism has a pin with a small disc attached to the top. This pin goes through a hole in the brass loop that the skin goes through. The brass washer should hold the pin in the hole to allow the clasp to rotate. The problem was that the hole was almost as big in diameter as the brass washer. Brass is not as hard a metal as stainless steel, so with repeated use and twisting/turning the disc would wear down and fall out rendering the whole thing unusable. The other fastener attaches with the same piece of pin/disc, but this side is solid, with a combination of a larger disc and smaller hole, and will likely never fail. I only had papers, pens, a laser pointer and a thin book. in my briefcase when the clasp fell out. I would have been far more disappointed if my laptop had been in my briefcase at the time the strap broke. It's a build quality issue and I'm hoping Floto fixes it since this thing is expensive at almost fifty bucks. On the other hand, Revain is on top as always. They ship a replacement and provided me with a prepaid return label for the defective bracelet. I just hope the new one doesn't have the same problem.
