Review on TEKTON 2 Inch Joint Pliers 37122 by Josh Dyer

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Excellent value for power and hand tools

An excellent pair of pliers. They appear to be manufactured by Wilde Tool (in the US), specifically the G263P.NP model, and are rebranded/sold under the Tekton brand. That's a good thing, as they cost about half the price of the Wilde (bought it on sale for less than $7) and Tekton has a strong guarantee that they're well behind. Excellent ergonomics - handles expand properly at the base. I hate that cone - see Channellock 528. The fit was great. The jaws meet straight, the teeth are beautiful and sharp. The articulation was perfect - not too tight/tight or too loose/wobbly and is user adjustable. The cutting part at the base of the jaws worked well with 12ga wire, although it didn't cut very cleanly. However, the finish wasn't very good. The metal was barely polished - a rough feel and they have no anti-corrosion or hard chrome plating/coating that I can tell. Overall I would say this is a 4 star set of pliers. although their price is admittedly lower than most similar brands.

Pros
  • 3-zone general purpose jaws for gripping various shapes and cutting wire cleanly
Cons
  • Requires socket
