Review on πŸ“» Enhance SDR Signals with Distill:FM Barebones - Efficient Broadcast FM Bandstop (Notch) Filter by Brittney Kutty

Revainrating 3 out of 5

ONLY 6dB of attenuation

When I bought this the description said it had a much higher attenuation (e.g. 24dB), this unit doesn't even come close to matching that. In fact, 6 dB is written directly on the board (fine print on the back of the board). Please note that this is a bandpass filter or notch filter. My apologies for the blurry close-ups of the phone, but I have one and it says "<-3dB 82MHz - 115MHz" (This description is missing important details like FWHM? or what measurement was actually taken) "<-6dB 87.5MHz - 108MHz" (see note above). This means that the power of an American or European FM radio station is reduced to approximately twice your distance from the actual radio source (4x). It's not a big deal if you're within 2 miles of a strong FM station so you can keep shopping. I'm happy with mine, it relieves the front of my SDR radio. Please note that when using it must be in some kind of RF cage, in the air (on your desk) it will be noisy.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Easy to maintain
