Review on Cooler Master CK530 V2 TKL Gaming Mechanical Keyboard Brown Switch RGB Backlighting On-The-Fly Controls Aluminum Top Plate by Jeff Johnson

Good keyboard for one hand. But it needs improvement.

I'm a left-handed graphic designer and have used a lot of one-handed keyboards. Handheld keyboard, 24-key, 48-key Koolertron keyboard and more. I found out the control panel was going through Kickstarter and sold it to Revain. It was difficult to wait as I didn't know when it would be released in our country, so I ordered two for home and work use. The biggest plus is that it has built-in memory. This was a product I got and modified a lot of Kickstarter reviews so I had the app and everything was fine. The processing of the product is also great. The palm rest can be completely removed, which makes a very good contribution to relieving the workspace. There are areas that need improvement or are disappointing. The keyboard shortcuts that can be set to double action are too limited. Only one button can be set as duplicate. For example, keys like Ctrl + A and Ctrl + X cannot be assigned as dual keys.2. In the macro settings, the keystroke list UI is stuffy. You cannot select more than one. When writing macro scripts, you often have to go through a lot of trial and error to erase bad keystrokes. However, you cannot select multiple items, so you must remove them one by one to confirm the yes/no message box. Step up, step down also only allows you to select one list. So if you really work, you have to edit the list with many clicks. It's incredibly tiring. It should have the drag-and-drop and multiple selection feature that Windows Explorer has in common.3. The delay setting in the macro settings is very poor. There is only one delay for button presses and no separate simple delays. When creating macros, this is counterintuitive and very cumbersome. The simple no-input lag is important because there is network latency and the time that the UI is rendered in the game or app. There should be a function to list simple no keypress delays in seconds or milliseconds. It is difficult to understand which display is selected in the UI for the LED color setting. When I first set it up I made a mistake thinking it had no function. It would be nice if the selected indicator icon had a different graphic. For example, the selected LED display will be highlighted with a display icon.5. It is necessary to limit the number of profiles used. If the profile cycle key is set, 1 to 24 are recognized, ie it is switched through from 1 to 24. So when you specify the cycle key, you need to specify two plus and minus keys. There are other ways, but you need to manually set the following profile numbers for each profile. Once you can limit the number of profiles you use, you can quickly switch between a portion of the scroll keys. Otherwise it is necessary to be able to specify the range of number of profiles to which the cycle key is applied.6. The import/export of profiles is a bit strange. LED settings other than display cannot be saved. There is no function to save all profiles in one file. You must save and load the number of individual profiles you have defined. There is a "Import All Profiles" function, but I don't know how to use it. I tried saving multiple files, numbering the files and testing, but it didn't work.7. Key input is very sensitive. There are times when the key is pressed even with the weight pressed lightly against the keycap. I think it was made so sensitive because of the dual action or aiming pad. It should be possible to control the entire keystroke.8. It's also true that the magnet has a weak palm rest and the distance to the wheel is uncomfortable for use. It would be nice to change the design of the rudder position in the sequel. The height and distance should be closer to the cap. It would be better to change the position of the LED display and the wheel. What I wrote above as a problem is a feature that comes by default in most other products. If only the issue I raised would change, this would be a really good one-handed keyboard.

Pros
  • L RGB lighting: LED per key with multiple lighting modes and effects to highlight all your dominant killstreaks
Cons
  • Very expensive
