Pretty easy to assemble. It only holds my 9 year old's clothes and stuffed animals, plus a few light toys, so it's sturdy enough for that. My problem was that the product description is misleading - it cannot easily be modified to suit your needs. I figured the set could be built in a "stepped" pattern OR a 3x3 square grid and ordered it. What was in the box was ONLY a staggered configuration - the number of parts and the type of connecting parts didn't allow me to build it in a 3x3 grid. Also, some of the "fabric" sides included were the wrong size (too long), leaving at least 1"sleeve for 3-4"shelves". Doesn't look bad and still functions as a shelf, since they are reinforced with pipes, but it shows.If you decide to take a risk, be sure to select the right package, which is not clear in the options when ordering.Or find another product/brand/ Salesperson.
