Review on Pavilion TG01 Professional Computer Made_By_HP Computers & Tablets for Desktops by Ben Olson

A lot of power in a small size!

I really like it! The computer arrived well packaged and on time. I had a rocky start when I first got it and had to do some tweaking. The installed 512GB Toshiba NVMe SSD booted only once in about a dozen power cycles. I ended up cloning an included Windows 10 Home installation to a SATA SSD and everything is fine now. The kit is easy to disassemble and replace once you are familiar with working with a PC. The Ryzen 5 3400G was cooled by an AsRock stock cooler included in the A300 base package. The coil was whining terribly! I quickly replaced it with a flat Noctua cooler and it's now quiet and thermal performance under load is excellent. The idle temperatures remained about the same for both coolers. Although not listed, my box comes with two sticks of DDR4 memory, so it can benefit from dual-channel memory, which is very important for an integrated GPU. The memory cards were MICRON and I would have wished for more proven and reliable memory cards, but the cards provided seem to work well with good timing. This listing also includes an M.2 WiFi card and antennas. Two SATA cables are also included if you want to connect a pair of SATA/SSD hard drives. I've tried a few Intel-based NUCS models and they just couldn't cut it. They always failed in the iGPU department with very poor performance. I use this computer in my shop mostly for Sketchup woodworking designs and it works very well. But I also added a few light games and still do. he goes through them like a champion! For what it's worth, I've also tried Blender and Cinema 4D. no questions! However, keep in mind that these 3D applications are very intensive and require a lot of horsepower to run well, so I will continue to use my desktop for them. But it was interesting to see if they would work on this PC! Where space is at a premium, this tiny PC really shines. It packs so much into a tiny box the size of an ATX power supply. It can be VESA mounted, but it costs about $20 for an AsRock mount, but it's worth it in my opinion! With a Bluetooth keyboard/mouse you have a tidy workplace. Great product and I am very happy with it!
