Review on SCOSCHE MAGCD2 MagicMount Universal Magnetic by James Richardson

Revainrating 1 out of 5

I've tried 4 of these, can't recommend any of them

My first Scosche mount was a set of 2 I picked up from Costco which were windshield mounts. One in my car, one in my GF car. She works from home, so she hardly ever uses it. On the other hand mine - I used it all the time because I drive a lot. The magnets worked fine on all but mine fell off the windshield every 2 weeks until eventually the mechanism holding the stand next to the suction cup broke and the suction cup would have been but the stand itself would have dangled and dangled. around. Then I bought the simplest one that goes to the vents which worked a bit, a good magnet but it put the phone at an angle which was inconvenient for my use as it couldn't adjust direction it would just be so straight . Then I bought the one for the vents, it sticks out a bit and can bend is total crap, good magnet but couldn't stay on the vents to save his life. It fell off several times a day when I turned over. Then I bought one for the CD slot - complete nonsense. I don't know what CD slot it's made for, but mine has some sort of pillow protector that the CD slides in between, and I assume most standard CD players do the same, so that doesn't fit. The latch doesn't have enough room to snap and just falls off. As it clearly states that it is not intended for aftermarket CD players and will not fit stock players, I cannot find out what CD players it is designed for. After all - I have a metal plate on my cell phone. of 4 scosche mounts - none to attach it to. I would definitely buy a window fastener again, of all the bad ones, the one that worked the least badly - everything was fine until the spring on the latch broke. Everything else - don't even waste your time and money buying them, they're not worth it.
