Probably a decent camera for most applications/users. Here's the reason for the mediocre rating: We bought this to replace a broken Nikon 1 J1 camera whose standout feature is 400fps video. J5 does the same but only for 3 seconds (J1 did 5 seconds). If you're using 400 fps for forensics (we use it for impact testing) with a manual trigger, 3 seconds can be pretty short for your movie. Aside from 400fps video, this is a fairly unremarkable camera; we returned it.
