Review on Sony MDRX10/RED Simon Cowell X Headphones: Immersive Audio Experience with Powerful 50mm Diaphragms by Johnathan Hegie

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good headphones that thump with bass.

I bought these because I listen to a lot of electronic music and wanted headphones with strong bass and low frequencies. These did not disappoint us. I think it's just a special version of MDX-XB800 or XB900s. I chose these from the 800s because I didn't care about the red and silver colors and this pair included a detachable crossbody strap and carrying case. Tried with and without additional headphone amplifier. Out of the box: The sound is very heavy at low frequencies. Great bass but the mids and highs are a bit muddled. With amplifier: even better bass, mids and treble are not so chaotic. Recommendation: Whether you use an amplifier or not, you need to set up an equalizer for your system. After tweaking and boosting some of the bass, and boosting the mids and highs, I was able to get great sound without losing great bass. - Comes with a regular 3.5mm cable and one with an integrated remote control. Comfort: - Large soft ear pads are great. - They have extra padding at the top for extra comfort. This leads to some early discomfort (depending on the size/shape of your head. I was able to find my favorite spot in terms of placement and was able to use them for hours. Bottom line: overall great quality headphones. Comfortable once you find a sweet spot and put them on Little break Great bass and overall good sound Sound can be improved with an amplifier and some level adjustments.
