Review on Wi-Fi adapter TP-LINK TL-WN822N, white by Aashit Tigga ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The product suited me, I will recommend it to my friends.

Works in conjunction with the TP-Link-WR841N router (maximum signal strength is set). Driver Realtek RTL8192CU Wireless LAN 8022022n USB 2.0 Network Adapter: 1027.4.630202222 dated 03/04/2022 (the driver was installed automatically without an Internet connection). It was possible to find the position of the adapter and antennas at which the maximum speed rises to 50Mbps. With the antennas lowered, the speed did not exceed 30Mbps (and this is taking into account the fact that the router is located in another room without a direct line of sight behind a concrete wall). The adapter shows signal strength in 3 divisions out of 4. After a month of use, a problem appeared in Win10 (x64). The adapter began to lose the Internet, while the connection either breaks or not. I tried different drivers, setting adapter parameters and different router settings. As a result, experimentally, I came to the conclusion that the adapter cannot withstand a maximum speed of more than 43,000 Kbps. As a result, my current settings are: 1) in the adapter settings on the "Advanced" tab, unchecked "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power". 2) in Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Power Options\Change Scheme Settings\Change Advanced Power Settings\USB Settings/USB Pause Setting - set to "Disabled". 3) in the settings of my router, I assigned a binding to the IP address, and on the IP address I set the limit of incoming and outgoing throughput to 40960 Kbps. (there is an assumption that the maximum stable speed of the adapter will depend on how far it is from the router). So far the adapter is working fine.

Pros
  • Windows 10: very fast installation. Connected to USB on a PC, found my WiFi, entered the password and everything worked.
Cons
  • Very sensitive to the position of the antennas.
