Review on Claire Chase Uptown Black Backpack by Danielle Simon

I just love this backpack. This is of course more than I usually pay for a backpack. And I'm still trying to decide if the price is worth it. But I'm going on holiday soon and wanted a trendy backpack with thick leather straps that a thief couldn't easily cut through. The leather is of excellent quality, the bag is chic. One thing that bothered me, which was mentioned by another reviewer, was that the holes on the straps didn't go up far enough, making the armholes too big for me. Not quite sure if it was made because it was supposed to be a men's backpack. or what, but I found it very annoying. I felt like I couldn't ignore the size of the hand holes, so I bought a leather punch from my local craft store for about $18. I measured the distance between the holes and added four more holes for each strap. The holes look like they were originally there and not a bad job so I'm happy with that. It's only when you tape the strap close to your face upon closer inspection that you'll see that the holes aren't exactly the same. While my fix makes the armholes in my pack the perfect size, it lets the front straps dangle further than it looks. ok but. after all, I'd rather have slightly longer shoulder straps than oversized armholes. In the end, despite the fact that I had to do a bit of work to get it perfect, I still love this backpack and hope it lasts me long enough. After my trip I will post more thoughts on usage.
