After all the news about grain free dog food that has too many legumes, lentils or peas causing heart problems, I started looking for a rich dog food in the Protein. without legumes/lentils/peas and with added taurine. This one seemed just right! It also doesn't contain chicken or wheat, which my dog is allergic to. It contains eggs but is not sensitive to eggs so that was normal for us. My dog loved the taste of the lamb flavored dog food and ate it with gusto. Unfortunately his stools never got as hard as they used to (he always had hard and healthy stools) so I stopped buying this dog food. My dog's digestive system seems to prefer fish food, so I'm still looking for a legume-free fish protein dog food. I still gave it four stars because the ingredients are pretty good for the price and my dog really liked the taste. If your dog isn't as protein sensitive as mine, this food seems like a really good and affordable choice.
