Build quality is good. The app is easy to use and has a few useful features, but at the same time it's very basic and frankly disappointing for a device of this price range. But it would suit me if the devices were reliable. what they are not. You cannot manage them without an internet connection. There is no "local-only" mode. But more often than not, they just don't stay connected to Wi-Fi. I've tried several brands of WiFi extenders. Same results. I've tried connecting some to an Xfinity router 6ft away. You will go through the setup and work for a while. If you set a timer, they will work regardless of the network connection. After a few hours, one or more switches off without exception. If I reset the router and WiFi extenders, the Leviton plugs may or may not reconnect. Most of the time I have to go to each one and reset one by one until everyone is online. But the next day I have to go through the whole process again. Daily. Every single day. It is too much. Don't buy this junk if you value your sanity. I switched to a different brand of smart plugs and no longer have these issues. I can reset the network and come back in 5 minutes and everything just works. every time Something that was *impossible* with Leviton's junk installed.
