fits my four year old comfortably. We bought her size 11. Hiking is something we love to do and has the added benefit of getting in the water. The sides are a bit flexible, which I don't like, but we'll keep an eye on them to see if they remove any marks on the legs. They seem to be very durable and I expect a lot from the enthusiasts
