Review on πŸ‘Ÿ Evergreen Lifestyle Sneaker Men's Shoes by New Balance by Calvin Chavva

Width NOT as advertised

I first ordered these shoes a few weeks ago and they seemed good for the price aside from the lack of tongue padding. What I liked about these shoes is that the short part of the synthetic leather covers the area where the end of the big toe is, which is covered by the mesh on many other tennis shoes. On some of my other sneakers, the mesh is torn at this point, which is supposed to prevent the design of this shoe. And now for the not so good stuff. I noted earlier that some reviewers complained that the shoe was narrower than advertised. I usually take 14W shoes, but I decided to take a risk and ordered that exact size in this shoe. At first it seemed that the shoes are suitable for the daily walks I take. However, after a few weeks of walking, I noticed that my toes were cramping. Otherwise I was happy with the shoe and decided to order the same shoe in 14X believing that would solve the problem. The shoes arrived yesterday even though the tag on the shoes says 4E. They looked just as big as the others I had. which had 2E on the label. To ensure this, I put one of the new shoes on to match one of the other shoes, sole to sole, and they were EXACTLY the same width. Corners to save your cost. However, New Balance needs to have better quality control to ensure it is released on their behalf. I may be wrong in what I said about the difference between broad and very broad. I order a pair of NB 877 wide sneakers that have a wide toe box. I found they fit my toes well, but maybe a little tight. Since they weren't expensive, I ordered a pair that was very wide. I found that the outsole to sole distance was the same between the wide and extra wide shoes BUT the upper in the ultra wide shoes WAS visually even wider. This made me think they could do the same for 574v2. I just measured them sole to sole and didn't really try to wear them long enough to see if they fit. Still, I'm sending back the pair I just received.

Pros
  • 50% suede, 50% mesh
