First I wanted to test printing the stand on something small. I used my regular PLA @200C profile and it turned out to be pretty good. I have to adjust the indentation a bit because I had thin strings. I used 99% isopropyl alcohol to smooth it out. I just laid it down for a second or two a few times and let it dry. It gets very sticky when you take it out of the alcohol, so don't touch it when it's wet. Print in a well-ventilated area as it has an odor. My next print will be a toothbrush holder. I think PVB would be the perfect material for this because it wouldn't be porous after smoothing.
