After years of struggling with my old water filter. Every time I have changed the filter it has always leaked. Finally found one that doesn't leak. I bought a different brand and it leaked the same or worse than the old one no matter how tight I tightened it. I was able to get my money back and replace it with this Lake Industries stainless steel filter and there were no leaks. The bypass valve didn't spin at first, so I replaced it with the old one. Then I realized I just wasn't turning it hard enough even though the instructions said to pull the handle. I turned the Lake Industries valve back on and it worked great by turning the knob. No leaks.
