Review on Command 17304 Medium Bundlers Strips by Steven Lane

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good but not the solution I was hoping for

I hate cables that come with kitchen appliances. hate her. Sign me up when wireless technology is available. But we're not there yet. I am tormented by the cord of a blender, toaster, food processor. You name it, it's a pest. And things like the zippers they use when shipping don't look cool anymore over time. I was going to use velcro as the cable guys started out, but then I saw this and decided to try it instead. The idea is awesome. The performance is worse. First, liability. The command bars work; used for many years. The only problem is that it could be made less linear and more rounded for the surface. (Although I suspect this will interfere with removing the command strips; in this case, a square shape would work as well.) Second, the odd mechanism securing the thing isn't immediately obvious. It took me several tries to get it and there were no instructions for this product that came with the clasps. I already knew how to use the command strip, so the clutch was fine. It was everything else that wasn't there. The odd latch going into the notch is counterintuitive. And what's worse, he doesn't stop. The goal isn't to make your cables fly when you move things; I was glad that I can now pack stuff without fumbling with the cord, but it was premature. The latch keeps popping open when I don't want it to and knocking out the cord so I had to keep the zip tie as a backup, which I hate. I was willing to buy four sets for all my devices but I'm glad I started with just one. It was disappointing. By the way, the instructions that were sent to me were for mini hooks, strangely not for this product. It was oddly packaged in a random small box rather than the standard 3M box/plastic packaging. The command stripes turned out to be normal, similar to my old ones. But it wasn't packaged to inspire confidence. It's no use either.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Incredible piggy bank
