This camera, like most surveillance cameras, takes good sharp pictures, colors are very good and all functions work as they should. THE PROBLEM OF ALL cameras is the included APP. This is where all the problems come from like loss of connection, severe lag, crashing, app not connecting to network etc. etc. etc. I'm very surprised that this application has worked flawlessly so far, no crashes, connects to mine every time, no lags, no problems network connected. THIS IS THE MOST AMAZING. It's a shame we can't use this app for other cameras or force camera manufacturers to adapt their software to allow Hicam, which I found better than Hicam Pro as both were designed to work with this camera. I've tried 50 cameras of all price ranges and each one is a good camera but the application is terrible which makes the vast majority send everything back. This camera and app go very well together. . A+++Updated on 04/02/2021. I have my second camera and it is just as good as the first. The pairing process is very easy with the Hicam app (not Hicam Pro). I inserted a 128GB TF card, set my phone to 2.4GHz, then plugged in a Category 6 cable from the router, then plugged in the power. I use the scanner option which scans the barcode then I add my SSID and P/W and its connection. When it's connected I go into settings and select WiFi and just add my network PW as it already lists my 2.4 band, then remove the category 6 hard cable and it stays connected. I unplug it, unplug the wires, find a good spot to attach, then plug in 2 wires and leave the CAT jack blank and it connects to my wifi and STAYS plugged in. All other applications disconnect, lag or twitch very badly and never connect. This is by far the best camera app and the image quality is amazingly clear. In my opinion the best ESP setup at this $40 price point. Check out a photo I took on March 31, 2021 at 7:30pm Arizona time in standard definition (not HD) with the lighting set to the auto setting and not the color or normal setting (the uses its own light). that's very good considering the almost total darkness
