Didn't work at all

I bought this to connect my Mac Book Pro to an audio device but it didn't work. I spent hours troubleshooting when I finally found these jack to jack adapters to be faulty. I've tried them on multiple devices from wall charger to phone, pc to headphones, wall charger to headphones and none of them worked.
