I went to Michael's and bought some colored glass beads for my kids to play with. When I brought them home I found they were transparent glass beads coated in some sort of gel paint that inevitably peeled off. And since they're made in China, there's a good chance they contain lead. So I sent them back and started researching the best option I could find. They are real colored glass (not tinted) and they are made in the USA. They're a lot more expensive than the cheap stuff you can buy from Michael, but you get what you pay for. I'm happy to support a company that makes great, safe products in the United States. Highly recommended. I would definitely buy more of these!
