Review on πŸ’‘ Corsair iCUE Lighting Node PRO: Enhanced Multicolored RGB Lighting Control by Sean Julian

Revainrating 3 out of 5

One of the LED strips was DOA - otherwise a good set

I bought these LEDs to light up my new PC. Installation was easy and the magnets on the strip are quite strong and were able to stick to my case fairly well - I didn't have to use the built in tape that the strips themselves have. The strips are solid and appear to fold fairly well (though notably they can't be cut - keep that in mind if you're hoping to create custom length strips). Plenty of extension cords are included to allow you to place the hub and LED strips anywhere in the case unless you have a very large case. I'm still working on the build and couldn't try to change the settings using the Corsair iCUE app. I'll update this review once I'm done with the build and have a chance to finish setup. One nasty remark - and the reason for the 3 stars - was that one of the LED strips was DOA. One of the LEDs on the strip is badly connected, so the lighting effects after the badly connected LED don't continue down that strip, resulting in a blinking white pattern on a quarter of the strip. The LED is not burned out because with enough bending it can reconnect and the rest of the strip will work as it should with even lighting effects. Unfortunately, this is an inappropriate solution as it requires quite a bit of force to maintain contact. I ended up using only 3 strips which was enough for what I wanted to do although I wish I had all 4. Considering the price of this set obviously 25% of the strips are not working which is a little disappointing. A dead streak aside, it's still a great lighting kit. Based on other reviews I'm assuming band breakage is a rare occurrence and everything else is working as it should for now. But one of the 4 bands is not acceptable in this price range.
