2012 Buick Enclave. Went to the mechanic and was offered over 1,000 for this repair, yeah, eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee They said 9 hours to take the dash apart and install the part. I have no doubt it can take that long, but I'm not paying for it if I can do it myself. This replacement worked perfectly. I have found that this type of ratchet extension (see image) along with a ratchet screwdriver is much easier to fit into the very tight space you need to access the defrost drive. It's the first thing you'll see and the easiest to get to. There are instructions in these reviews or online on how to access this area. You will also need a Torx T20 bit. Took me about 25-30 minutes. Be careful not to lose any of the torx screws like I did. Luckily I still had one in my tool box.
