Velp, didn't work for me.

It didn't work for me. I tried the scratch removal process several times and got no love. Of course, the packaging says that deep or severe scratches cannot be repaired, so it is risky to buy. But I still can't tell and don't know if my scratches are deep, serious or not. All I know is that my drive isn't working properly and I can see a few tiny scratches on the surface. Buying a product for a job that you can't know if it will work or not until you spend your money on it is kind of a liability. The packaging doesn't even say what kind of product it is. Does it fill in scratches? sand down? Polish/soften? How it works? give me details Okay, who knows, maybe it will work in the future if I have the problem again on another drive. At least I have a bottle of cleaning solution to use to clean drives only if the scratch remover never works. Oh! and i had another problem with the instructions hidden behind the product and the pop up bubble that you have to tear off and you can tear off as you don't know they are there until you open them and destroy the packaging (great work by the Maxell packaging designers). Luckily for me, I only tore up the manual a little and it was still readable. I scanned both sides and uploaded them here in case anyone accidentally destroys their package and needs instructions. It would also be better if the product came in a small box as shown in the main product image. With this clamshell packaging, once you open it, you've got two bottles and a bunch of rags, and you can't keep them all together. I assume the Ziploc Package Plan B will be my storage case. And here is another problem. One important detail that the instructions don't take into account and I don't know the answer to is that in steps 1 and 2 you first apply a drop and wipe off the scratch remover and then in steps 3 and 4, spray on the cleaner the disc and erase everything. But it doesn't mark whether you have to wait or not. So how long do you wait between steps 1-2 and 3-4? Do you wipe off the scratch remover immediately? Wait five seconds? Wait five minutes? Wait half an hour? Who knows? What does this scratch remover even do? Maybe that's why it didn't work for me? Did I wait too long to delete it? Have I waited long enough? Is it important? We'll never know. Step 3 really should contain the word "immediately" or "wait X seconds/minutes" for those who have never done this process before. Even if it doesn't matter, it will clear up any confusion or questions. Another thing is that the cloths that come with it seem to leave a bunch of fine fibers on your drive after the final cleaning. I would prefer a lint-free microfiber cleaning cloth that leaves nothing behind. The thought of building a drive with small loose fibers into a complex drive scares me. I ended up just using a separate microfiber cleaning cloth to try and wipe away any loose fibers. It's a shame that big companies don't really test and test their products and packaging like a consumer would before selling them.
