Somewhat irrelevant questions (this is not a pair of shoes so does not provide "good arch support" (g)). This is a pocket or pocket pattern which is very handy as once chop it will open when pressed and stay open - or at least allow the entire bottom to be seen to find the right coin. In this particular embodiment the leather is of good quality. The landing is slightly offset, leaving a small hole in the center of the iris (less than 1/8 inch, coins won't slip out); it will likely drag on with wear and tear. There is an extra layer of leather sewn onto the bottom and there is some material between it and the outer bottom to stiffen it. This makes it a little harder to compress but should increase durability and strength. It's a bit smaller (maybe 1/4 inch in diameter) than my last one, but honestly it was sold as a tobacco pouch. All in all, a useful and well-made article.
