Benefits. Attractive. The lighting is pleasant. Good build quality. Doesn't leak. I downloaded the PETKIT app and was prompted to register. Before agreeing to the terms, I clicked the link. Returned, the page is not available. I'm on an I-Phone. So instead of not knowing what I was getting myself into, I uninstalled the app. The manual button press method worked well. You can turn off the light without turning off the filter.2. I filled it with water. It took about a gallon and another 10 ounces. Not 1.5 gallons of water for fish to swim in. On the description page, scroll down to the comparison points, it says 1.3 gallons. Some of the water enters the back where the pump and filters are located. I assume a gallon of water is available for the fish.3. I left it running for about 3 hours to check for leaks and make sure the lights and pumps were working. I then emptied it to check the back. Oops. It turned out that the pre-installed filters (the 3 white rectangular filters on the product page) were thin disposable plastic. I removed the plastic. I hope everyone else too. There are no instructions for this. Of course, if I had known they were encased in plastic, I would have known. I have not seen her. I thought they forgot to put the filters in the package. See my photo 3 filters. I believe these are physical filters that need to be replaced. My second photo shows a black filter that looks like a sponge. It doesn't look very accessible so I'm assuming it's biological filters. I don't understand how to get to them to wash them.4. Physical filters should be cleaned frequently and replaced after 2 months. According to the manufacturer's response to Revain's question about purchasing replacement filters, the manufacturer/seller replied that replacement filters were not yet available. I need to order a USB cable extension (male/female) as the cable provided is not long enough to reach my APC ground shield. The tank will be on my desk, 2 sockets are already occupied. So for some they will be long enough, for some not, bottom line. I would not have ordered this if I had known that the swimming area available for the fish is roughly equivalent to a 1 gallon bowl. Still, it's attractive, well made, and seems reasonably well thought out. It's definitely better for fish than a 1 gallon bowl when you factor in filtration and lighting. I think 3 stars overall is a fair rating,
