Works as it should. The only problem is that the LED lighting switch is on the same side as the LED light, which means bright light hits your eyes when you turn on the LED lights. As for the lights themselves, they didn't turn on until I removed them. Put the batteries back in place using the cap removal tool that was provided, after I checked they had 1.5 volts each, put the cap back in and then FULLY tighten the cap. Then when the switch was moved, the LEDs would light up. It may not have been checked by a QC before packing. In terms of magnification, this is a decent loupe. It is NOT intended for use by those who have difficulty reading or who perform jobs that require close supervision. Various magnifying glasses with a diameter of more than 21mm are more suitable for reading, sewing, etc.
