I received the white camouflage shorts and they suit you well, at first glance I thought they were too big but once I put them on everything was fine. I bought the large size after the size chart was a bit confusing. My size is 32, 33 is comfortable and the large size is more like a 34 so the size I got was a little loose at the top but I tied it up and after that it was fine, the inner lining stayed close to my feet , but didn't do it too tight. If I were to take a medium size it would be more like a size 30-32 and maybe a bit tight. I've hiked before and the shorts were comfortable and didn't ride up at all. Phone and you want to use the pocket inside the earbud, the phone will bounce a little but won't fall out, but you can always use the zipper pocket if you're worried about it. The zippered side pockets are a bit smaller than usual. I don't have big hands and found it difficult to get my hand in and out easily.
