I was looking for a DisplayPort to Mini DisplayPort adapter to connect my Valve Index to my laptop and it did works great for that. My Acer Predator Triton 500 laptop didn't have the DisplayPort required for the Valve Index, so I started looking for something that would allow them to work together. This adapter met my needs and I'm glad it's not as expensive as some of the alternatives. After I bought it, I heard that some other adapters didn't work for this purpose, so I was a bit concerned, but those concerns were allayed when SteamVR launched with this adapter.
