While I can see where people with average or narrow feet may want to order a size down, if you have wide feet and/or a bunion like I do order your usual size and you will feel like you are walking on a cloud. The sole is sturdy enough to zip outside to get the mail and yet the lining is very plush and soft so you don't feel like you're walking on hard rubber. Best yet while they are warm they don't make my feet too hot as many slippers have. I do hope they come out with additional colors. I bought my first pair in gray but plan on buying at least one, and probably two, more pairs in other colors.
