Review on 🐾 X-Mat Original Pet Training Mat - Keep Pets Off Furniture with Ease! by Claudia Phipps

My favorite puppy torture device!

Against my better judgment, my wife decided to leave our cute little 10 week old puppy all over the furniture for him to cuddle and play with. Well, the cute little pup soon transformed into a 65-pound furry rocket that would pounce at random intervals at unsuspecting people sitting on the couch. In addition, she used ottomans as intermediate launch stations for additional lift and speed. Not being a fan of electrified systems (it just seemed too medieval to me) I went with what I call the spike approach. Have several of these mats, they work great! I put them on ottomans as a test and put a dog's paw on them as a warning. She didn't like it at all, but like all puppies, she has a short memory. A circus jump onto said ottoman was enough to heal her! Stop rushing at family and guests. The spikes aren't sharp enough to hurt paws, but they're uncomfortable! I think it was the surprise factor that worked in our case, not the discomfort. There are definitely other ways to train your dog to stay away from furniture, but if you've been a bad person, they can help you regain control quickly. By the way, they fold up for storage, which is a nice plus.
