Review on πŸͺ’ Ultimate Shave: Merkur Classic 2-Piece Gold Plated Double Edge Safety Razor by Jane Taylor

Best shave! fits safety razor

I have been using a safety razor for just over a year and this particular Merkur razor is the fourth razor I have bought. Others include the Merkur Slant Bar, the Merkur Classic T-Shirt, and the 1939-47 Gillette Fat Handle Tech by Razor Emporium. Apparently I have small bumps around my jaw and mouth that you can't see, but you can cut them with a razor and bleed. The angled razor is said to be good for certain things, but the razor requires some skill to master as it tends to cut through skin. I had a lot of problems with this razor so I had to give it up. The Merkur Classic 3 Piece Razor is a great razor that has not given me any problems with cuts on my face. I use it for business trips as I need something reliable that won't make me walk into a hotel lobby with a bloody face. I bought Gillette because I wanted something classic. I paid double what the Merkur cost and it definitely wasn't worth it. Every time I shaved I cut myself in 3 or 4 places. This morning I shaved for the first time with the Merkur Classic two piece gold razor and I think it was the best shave I've had since I started using safety razors. I used to go over my face twice when there were more than a few days between shaves, but this razor managed 7 days of stubble in just one pass and no nicks. Maybe the blade had something to do with it, too. I normally use Feather razor blades but I recently bought a set of 2 sample blades from various companies around the world. Today I used a blade from Bic.
