We actually bought two of these machines because the first one started skipping stitches like crazy. We took it to an authorized mechanic and he couldn't fix it, even after two different attempts. What we had to go through to bring it back to Janoma for repairs wasn't worth it so we just got another one. I sew a lot and find a cover stapler essential, and there aren't many home sewing machine options, so we decided a different machine would be best. We've had the new one for 6 months now and it's working quite well so far. It still skips stitches when going across any thickness of fabric, like a seam when I'm hemming a t-shirt. But I can catch a skipped stitch with a needle and thread and it works really well. I recommend this machine but treat it with care and do not use it for heavy fabrics.
