We actually bought two of these machines because the first one started skipping stitches like crazy. We took it to an authorized mechanic and he couldn't fix it, even after two different attempts. What we had to go through to bring it back to Janoma for repairs wasn't worth it so we just got another one. It would be better to get this machine in the 3 needle version at this price and I can't understand why this 2 needle machine is so expensive even here. Nearby retailers are selling Janome's Elna in this two-stitch version for about double the price, which is even more outrageous. However, this is required to attach elastic cuffs to the top of swimwear and sportswear. I haven't tried chainstitch yet and hope to use it for decorative purposes one day. So far it works great.
