Judging by the weight and sound of this mixer, there's nothing special about it. But I took a picture of the inside before sending it back for a refund. The blender's body is mostly empty, with the same innards as a blender half the size. The timer does nothing. It just drops to zero. That's all. He doesn't ring. The blender will NOT turn off. it's pointless. I did the crushed ice test and it's pathetic. I crush the ice within reach of the blades and just leave the rest on top. (The blades aren't tilted, so there's no up or down force to move the ice, so a plastic 'poker' is needed to move things around in the blender.) And the 'new' lengthened Blades" should be fairly short to begin with. They are no longer than in any other blender. The jug is made of plastic. A disappointment for a mixer in this price range. The only thing I like about this blender is the speed selector. It smoothly changes from the slowest to the highest speed according to the rotation of the knob. No jumping from one speed to another within a limited range of 5 or 8 speeds. It was good. But still not good enough to make me want to sell this cheap blender at a premium price. A star.
