Revainrating 4 out of 5

Fantastic security camera if you don't buy it for the wifi/app features.

*This camera is NOT IP66 rated as advertised. It's "IP56" which means "waterproof" NOT waterproof * This is an amazing trail camera. Although it's a bit more expensive than other models, I believe it's worth every dollar. I have 4 Rexing dash cams so I was very excited about this product. Construction: The quality of the physical construction is evident. The buttons inside are also very well made and give great feedback when pressed. The camera closes very well when the two side shutters are closed. My two main criticisms would be the placement of the screen on the outer edge of the camera hole. This makes it difficult to set up the camera and check that it's properly aimed where you want it. You have to assemble it, open it, test it, close it, wait, open it, look at the footage, fix it and repeat until you're done. I've seen some cameras that have the screen and camera integrated into the main body, making it much easier to check positioning (e.g. a phone's front camera). It lacks the fully waterproof case that others offer, but overall if you're looking for a quality camera trap this is it. in photo/video mode. 4K video looks as good as it gets, especially considering most of the footage was shot at night. I've never had problems with motion where an incoming object isn't detected. Shooting always started seconds before the subject entered the camera's field of view, which is very important. Photos were pretty good too, although it did look blurry when the subject was moving at a decent speed. Not such a big deal since this video is basically what you get it for. The audio recording is surprisingly good too. It doesn't pick up distant sounds, but what's happening about 25 feet in front of the camera is recorded very clearly. Wi-Fi/App Capabilities: This is where this camera struggles. The app does what it needs to do: view photos and videos through the app; You have to download them to be able to play them. Wi-Fi on my model turns off about 1 minute after activation, even if I'm in the application and browsing the contents of the memory. Another problem is that the application feels rushed and incomplete. The app bears the exact name of the brochure (Trail Cam), but makes no mention of Rexing at all. I find this a bit strange in terms of branding. The app is very buggy. On my iPhone X, the language for various settings keeps changing. Otherwise nothing works in the app. The device information does not provide actual information as if the data values were never logged in the user interface fields. It's not that big of a deal as I doubt I or many others will ever use Wi-Fi, but since it's part of the 'package' it should be blamed. I'm only deducting one star for this because the camera itself is a solid 5/5 for me. If the app worked as well as the Rexing Dashcam App, it probably would IP56 Water-Resistant-Wi-Fi Capability-Complete Trail Cam App
