Great for sensitive stomachs!

I was a bit nervous when I ordered this item. My 2 year old chihuahua terrier puppy has always had a very sensitive stomach and was put on a doctor's prescription for hypoallergenic dog food almost from day one. We've tried other dog foods in the past, including recipes for sensitive stomachs and limited-ingredient formulas, and even other brands of hypoallergenic vet-prescribed dog food; all for free. Just 2 hours after trying one of those other dog foods (which also seemed to taste desirable) he cried to go outside to relieve himself. As a result, his stools were always completely liquid puddles that he had to pass with difficulty and retained a laxative effect that caused him to have frequent painful, loose stools for several days before becoming solid again only after reintroducing a strict hypodiet. . Because of his incredibly sensitive stomach, I didn't try any other dog food for almost two years, and instead regularly paid $75 a bag per month for Hill's Hypochlorites. Whilst this food has never given him an upset stomach like anything else, over the past 4 or 5 months he has developed recurring ear infections which leads me to believe there must be a better alternative to the expensive junk I just bought . , and hopefully one he really enjoys eating. After much research into what ingredients and formulas would work best for dogs with food intolerances, I found this brand and weighed my options beforehand. There were a few other brands I wanted to try, although the price per ounce was at least 30% more than I was already paying. My next alternative was to try to cook dog food for him, which made me very nervous. At first I was interested in purchasing the digestive care product line but it was only available in 25# packages which I knew would be a waste of money if they failed like all the others. The sensitive skin formula seemed like a decent option, especially since it came in a little bag that I could try out or give to a neighbor, though that didn't work either. After much deliberation, I finally decided to order a small pack of the formula for sensitive skin. Due to my dog's history, I attempted to mix his prescription diet evenly with the new Diamond Care kibble but encountered some difficulties as the kibble was nearly identical. To my amazement, he loved and devoured every last bite of the mixture, begging for more. I nervously declined and waited several hours. And then I waited a few more hours. And then I knew it was time for his regular late-night poop. I pulled it out and voila! Absolutely normal hard poop. No puddles, no stress, nothing. I offered him more Diamond Care in increasing proportions of his prescribed diet until I was just pouring Diamond Care granules into his bowl. He loved it and his poo stayed really hard and his ear infections stopped! He has been eating this dog food exclusively for 5 weeks without any problems. I have never been so happy for my little pup and plan to buy him in a larger bag from now on. Very happy with this dog food formula and also the great price. In comparison, Hill's price for a 17 pound bag was $75. All in all, a sensitive skin formula is great for a sensitive stomach too!
